In 1954 Harold Pinter adopted the stage name David Baron.
 

"In April [1953], he added The Wandering Jew to the repertoire, an ambition he had nursed since he played with Matheson Lang. At the first rehearsal he glanced at the company of assembled actors, and said, 'I want someone to carry the Cross past the window in the first scene.' His gaze rested on one young man; with his voice at its most sonorous, Wolfit called out, 'Pinter...'"
